Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Limited (HPTDC) launched debit card facility for tourists on its 37th foundation day ceremony held at Hotel Holiday Home. Principal secretary (tourism) Manisha Nanda formally inaugurated the acceptance of debit card in addition to existing credit card facility for online reservation of HPTDC hotels. With this, both debit and credit cards can now be used by tourists for booking in HPTDC hotels.
The principal secretary congratulated the Corporation for providing this additional facility for tourists to the state. She presented Paryatan Samaan to Mangat Dhani, Dr NK Sharma, Krishan Kumar Toor, all retired officers of HPTDC, and SR Harnot, who is presently working in the Corporation, for rendering outstanding services to the organization during their tenure of service and for their contribution to sports and literature.
Manisha Nanda also honoured four students of HPTDC employees – Master Anuj Kochhar, Master Prashant Sharma, Master Rohit Kumar for obtaining distinctions in the Board examinations and Shreya Dogra for winning the Silver Medal in HP State Taekwondo Championship. She also honoured Tikkam Sharma, a folk artist working in HPTDC Hotel Mamleshwar, Chindi, who presented an excellent culture programme under the banner of Sarswati Kala Sangam, Bagshiar(Karsog), on the celebration.
Managing director Subhashish Panda while welcoming chief guest Nanda alongwith guests of honour and all HPTDC employees also announced a special package from 10th to 20th September, 2009, for couples who are celebrating their silver jubilee in 2009. He expressed happiness that the ‘Beti Hai Anmol’ scheme was receiving good response.
