Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government today put SS Kapoor deputy director (Agriculture) Nahan, under suspension for alleged negligence, non-performance and committing irregularities in the implementation of Pt. Deen Dayal Kisan Bagwan Samridhi Yojna, a flagship programme of the state government, and other programmes being implemented by the department.
While it has been seen that generally the government has to struggle to pass such an order in case of direct corruption charges, except in cases where there are other political considerations, in this case action has been swift.
A government communiqué sates that Kapoor had constructed poly-houses without creating water sources, which are mandatory under the scheme, and also did not follow instructions in implementation of the programme inspite of series of communications, as a result of which the programme in the district suffered badly.
