Farmers’ seminar in Mandi on Aug 30



Mandi: The Karsog Valley Farmers Group is organising a farmers’ seminar on August 30 at the Prof KL Sharma Charitable Trust building near Charkufri on the Churag-Mandi road. The issues to be discussed include “Quality awareness: exhibition of fruits and vegetables, How to improve soil health: Adoption of organic practices; and Green house technology: Better return from controlled atmosphere. The lectures will be followed by open discussion and interaction. The event will start at 9.30 am. The seminar is being sponsored by KN Bioscience, Hyderabad and Classic Agricon, Panchkula.

  1. This type of seminars are being organised by this local NGO once a year.Due to the open market ,there is need to improve quality. So in this seminar farmers are requested to bring their produce ,display them so that other farmers must know the quality .

    Excessive use of chemical fertilisers and less use of organic matters have deteriorated the soil health.In this camp farmers will be motivated to adopt vermi composting ,farm yard manure, green mulch and bio fertilisers etc. Farmers will be make aware of the Integrated Pest Management system. Mrs M Usha is the first lady in ASIA with a company, vedic organic, accredited by APEDA for organic certification. The Kn-bioscience, Hyderabad, is being run by another lady, M sudha Reddy, Both the ladies will be participating in the seminar.Farmers will be addressed by Mustaq Ahmed of Classic Agricon for green house technology. In this seminar some short Docmentories on green house cultivation will be shown to the farmers. It is expected that about 350 farmers will attend the seminar.No governmental support is sought by the Karsog Valley Farmers Group for the organisation of this seminar.
