Technical team visits HImachal to reviews preparedness to tackle swine flu

Shimla: A high level two-members technical team of Ministry of Health, Government of India, today visited Shimla to take stock of the situation arising out of the growing threat of swine flu infections in Himachal Pradesh. The team members included Dr RM Rau, director and Dr R Ranjan, professor of public health to the Ministry of Health Government of India.

The technical team held a meeting with the Dr Rajeev Bindal, health minister, and other senior officers of Health Department and reviewed the preparedness of the state government to fight out the possible threat of swine flu in Himachal.

The team members also called on Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and expressed its satisfaction over the steps being taken by the state government to meet out any eventuality on account of the Swine Flu which has gripped the entire country.

Bindal told the technical team that all the eight tests which were done to find out the symptoms of swine flu in Himachal Pradesh were reported negatives. He asked the technical team to provide more personal protection equipment and testing kits to the state government immediately. He further told toll free telephone numbers would be available soon for the people to seek counseling and other related information regarding swine flu.
