Shimla: Sticking to its stand on the findings in the corruption case filed against Union steel minister Virbhadra Singh,anti-corruption bureau today ruled out a re-examination of an audio CD on the basis of which a case was registered against him.

“The bureau does not feel the need to send the CD for a re-examination after it has been tested by central forensic laboratory CFSL Chandigarh,” D S Manhas, the director general of Vigilance Bureau, Himachal Pradesh, said.

Manhas termed as “mischievous” reports in a section of media here that the state vigilance bureau is planning to send the CD, released by former minister Vijay Singh Mankotia in 2007, to FSL Hyderabad in view of objections being raised on the report of CFSL Chandigarh, particularly by state Congress leaders.

“The report is mischievous…the agency feels no no need for re-examination of the CD when it has already been examined by CFSL Chandigarh and which in its report has confirmed the voice of Singh, his wife and former bureaucrat Mohinder Lal (who is now dead) in the CD,” he added.
