CFL company admits lapses in bulb distribution

Shimla: A day after the Congress party demanded probe into sale of CFL lamps meant to be distributed in Himachal in the open market in Punjab, lamp maker Phoenix Ltd, a Noida-based company, admitted the lapse on its part in distributing the bulbs and apologized for the error.
General manager of Phoenix Limited Pawan Kumar Sharma admitted that the packaging division of the firm was at fault. Sharma was in Moga to confirm the allegations that CFL bulbs being sold in the town were carrying the tag ‘not for sale’. The company had supplied 26 lakh CFL to Himachal government. The Himachal Police is reported to have asked Punjab Police to seal the shops selling the lamps.
