All police stations in Himachal to be online: Dhumal

Shimla: All 101 police stations in Himachal Pradesh would be equipped with round-the-clock online registration of FIRs, complaints facility by the end of current financial year.  This was revealed by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal in the review meeting of the different wings of Home Department, held here last evening. 

He said that 90 of the police stations had started the complaint registration services to the common man and remaining 11 shall also be equipped with necessary equipments to go cent percent high tech during 2009-10.  He said that on line payment of traffic challans had also been started by the state police  for hassle free remittance of fine.  He said that additionally toll free telephone number 100 was also available to the complainants in the above 90 police stations to stay in touch with the police locally.  He said that three of the police stations had been ISO certified during preceding year for ensuring high standards of professionalism in policing while 12 more were likely to be added during current financial year. He said that every police station had women and child support unit taking care of atrocities against women and child.
            
He said that every police station and police post had been equipped with best of the communication facilities and vehicles provided for efficient mobility to rise to any call.  He underlined the need for construction of more housing units to facilitate the police personnel discharge their duties more efficiently.
