2-day conference on ’50 years of Indian television’ at IIAS

Shimla: Indian Institute if Advanced Study (IIAS) will hold a two-day conference on ’50 years of Indian television: Contemporary issues’ on Tuesday and Wednesday. Key areas to be debated include historical and contemporary roles of the state and the market in Indian television, media ethics and the shift from the state controlled mass media to that of corporate intervention in media. Experts participating in the conference include Bhaskar Ghosh, Sanjay Asthana, Paranjoy Guha Thakurata, Judith Karoll and Nilanjana Gupta amongst others.
