Shimla: In a stunning move, the Himachal Pradesh BJP today expelled its state vice-president and party leader from Baijnath constituency of Kangra district Dulo Ram for six years from immediate effect.
According to BJP state president, Jai Ram Thakur, Dullo Ram, a two-times MLA from Baijnath assembly constituency, was found active in anti-party activities in the recently held Lok Sabha polls in Kangra district where Rajan Sushant was contesting as the BJP candidate.
According to information, expulsion of Dulo Ram has come in the wake of his action of pressurising party national vice-president Shanta Kumar “out of the way” to lobby for his candidature from Kangra Parliamentary constituency by sending a delegation of his supporters to Shanta Kumar and secondly, for his decision to neutralize himself from the electioneering in the Baijnath constituency, following which Congress had gained a lead of more than 5,000 votes from the constituency. Following this political drama, the BJP Baijnath constituency body (mandal) had passed the resolution to expel Dulo Ram from the party.
Dullo Ram has remained Kangra district chief of the BJP and was party candidate in the last assembly polls from Baijnath, which he lost.
