Sun shines after rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh

Sunshine gives respite after three days of long inclement weather in the state. The metrological office recorded 12 cm fresh spell of snowfall at Kalpa in Kinnaur district. Keylong, headquarter of Lahaul Spiti had 16 cm snow while tourist resort Manali received 2 cm snow and Saluni in Chamba recorded 7.5 cm snow respectively.

Upper reaches of Manali and Rohtang pass reports one feet high fresh snowfall. Chamba got 53 mm rain, Kangra got 34 mm, Saluni in Chamba got 31.5 mm, Dharmashala 27 mm, Manali 12 mm, Seobagh in Kullu 9 mm, Bhunterairport 8 mm, while Una and Sundernagar received 4mm and 1.5 mm rain respectively. Kalpa was coldest in the state that remained low at minus 11 degrees, Keylong recorded minus 10.7 degrees and Manali minus three degrees, respectively. The metrological department has forecast mainly dry weather in the state within 24 hours.
