Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee has condemned the clash between State Youth Congress workers and BJP party workers at their party headquarters and has also confirmed that the party does not believe in violence as Congress follows the principles of non-violence propagated by ‘The Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi.

Naresh Chauhan, State Congress Chief Spokesperson said “State Youth Congress workers under the leadership of Vikramaditya Singh were staging a peaceful protest at BJP office in Chakkar, Shimla against the ordinance brought out by BJP led NDA government for Land Acquisition Act. Meanwhile BJP leaders had been looking for some opportunity and the party workers then resorted to stone pelting in a pre-planned manner on Youth Congress workers.

“Our President Vikramditya Singh had already informed the former Chief Minister and opposition leader Prem Kumar Dhumal about the protest and had assured him of peaceful demonstration at their party headquarters in Shimla. But then BJP workers tried to defeat the purpose of this protest by pelting stones on the Youth Congress workers, which led to the clash between BJP and Youth Congress workers. BJP leaders seems to have planned the incident to gain political mileage by playing victim and disrupt the proceeding of upcoming state Budget Session by creating disturbance during the session. Our party neither believes in any violence nor it encourages any kind of violent activity against any party” added Naresh Chauhan.
