State unit of BJP today blamed Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister for accusing opposition after failing to run his two years old state government effectively.
In a press release issued here today, BJP state President Mr. Satpal Singh Sati alleged that Mr. Singh seemed to be frustrated and was trying to level frivolous allegations against BJP leaders. Saffron party leaders also blamed, Mr.Singh for indulging in divisive politics after playing with the emotions of people.
Pointing toward some remarks made by Mr. Singh in a public meeting recently, BJP leader said that it is not crime to be a resident or citizen of Punjab. As a number of sons of that soil had given their lives for the freedom of this nation and the Chief Minister’s statement has also hurt people of this hilly state who had been a part of greater Punjab.
District Kangra, Kullu, Lahaul Spiti, Hamirpur and Una merged in Himachal much later but initially was part of Punjab and Chief Minister’s statement regarding Punjab is abusive to its people.
“ The man who has remained six time chief minister of this hill state and Union minister at centre ought not to have made such a statement” the party alleged.
He argued that if Mr. Singh hates the culture of Punjab so much, why he is keen on having a family relation with the people of that state. Discrimination of people on the line of Punjab and Himachal only reflects the sectarian attitude of Mr. Singh.
