“India is the tenth most hyper sensitive disaster prone country in the world as man made and natural disasters are taking a heavy toll on lives and property in this nation” as expressed by Suresh Thakur while addressing a campaign on total literacy under Gian Vigyan Samiti and State resource center on 23rd December at Chamba.
Out of 35 provinces in India 27 are considered hyper sensitive for the natural disaster comprising of 58.6 percent geographical area, which is earthquake prone. Threat of drought looms over 68 percent land rest 12 per cent fall in flood prone belt. Cautioning the local people and telling them about the ways to cope up with the various natural disasters delegate, Mr. D.S. Dewal added that Tisa subdivision in Chamba fall under the hypersensitive area.
