Migrant laborer to submit their biodata : Dinesh Malhotra


District Magistrate Shimla, Mr. Dinesh Malhotra said today that no employer/ contractor/trader would engage any migrant laborer visiting Shimla district in petty non-formal job or service or contract labour unless and until such migrant laborer furnish his particulars along with photographs of passport size to the Station House Officer concerned for identification and verification of his antecedents.

District Magistrate said that any migrant laborer visiting Shimla district would not engage himself in any kind of self employment or seek employment in non-formal trades or services without informing his intention to this effect to the Station House Officer concerned under whose jurisdiction he intends to seek such employment or engage himself in self employment.

He said that any breach of this order would make such migrant laborer and his employer liable for penal action under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.

He said that this order would come into force with effect from date of issue and shall be effective for a period of two months.
