The Himachal Pradesh unit of BJP hailed the union railway budget presented by Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda in Parliament at New Delhi on Tuesday.
Former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and state BJP Chief Satpal Satti hailed the first railway budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government, stating that it is balanced and would help to add up more railway network, safety and facility to the passengers.
Terming it as milestone for the growth of extension of railway in the country, BJP leaders said that 18 new projects have been selected to conduct survey, out of which two are for Himachal.
Contradicting the state Congress claim of complete neglect of this hill state in the budget, they claimed that Amb to Hoshiarpur and Una to Hamirpur railway line scheme are shortlisted to conduct survey, which creates new hope for increasing railway network in the hill state.
