2 dead 13 injured in HRTC bus mishap : Shimla

2 died and 13 others sustained injuries when Shimla bound state transport bus rolled down at Kathyana under Akhru gram panchayat near Dhami in Shimla district this morning, police sources confirmed.

Shimla-Kathyana HRTC bus carrying 20 passengers on board was about to set its journey at 0730 hours today when it rolled down before it could leave the station.

Eyewitness said that driver was taking a turn but before he could leave for Shimla, the bus rolled down as the breaks failed to work due to some mechanical fault.

The fifteen injured people including the driver were rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College hospital where the driver and a passenger succumbed to injuries. Deceased includes Hansraj (46) and Achharu Ram (56).

Three people among the fourteen injured were reported to be in a critical state.

The bus went 130 feet down the road. However, there is no reports of causality in the mishap.
