A tourist hailing from Andhra Pradesh was killed when a trolley carrying a couple went uncontrolled and hit a tree at Mahsu peak near Theog in Shimla district yesterday afternoon.
Police sources said Nagesh Kumar and his wife Rakhi were tracking on a span trolley when the wire-man lost control over it and it hit the nearby tree, injuring the couple after math of smashing the tree.
Mr. Kumar who was here for tourist sojourn with other tourists succumbed to injury on the spot while his wife was rushed to IGMC hospital in Shimla and was reported critical.
Number of tourists lost their life in the hills due to such unsafe adventure activities including swimming, river rafting, tracking and paragliding.
