Rain showers abate heat wave in Himachal

The frequent spell of rain showers abated increase heat wave in this hill state when rest of the country was sweltering with rise of mercury.

In Shimla district, Kotkhai had 12 mm rain, Jubbal 6 mm, Kumarsain and Bajaura in Kullu district 3 mm each, Kharapathar in Shimla district and Bhandal 2 mm each.

Keylong in Lahaul & Spiti district was lowest in the state at minus 4 degrees, Kalpa in Kinnaur district 5 degrees, Manali in Kullu district 7 degrees, Bhuntar 11 degrees, Chamba 13 degrees, Shimla, Dalhousie and Solan 14 degrees, Sundernagar in Mandi district 15 degrees. Una, Palampur, Bilaspur and Kangra 17 degrees each, whereas, Hamirpur and Nahan 18 degrees each.
