7 die in as van plunges into Satluj river : Himachal Pradesh

All 7 persons seating in a vehicle were killed as it fell down 400 meters deep on the bank of Satluj river early this morning at Jangi in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, police sources said.

A pickup carrier loading seven laborers of a power project died on the spot when driver lost control over the vehicle at 0630 hours today. The vehicle fell down 400 meters deep from the road along bank of mighty Satluj river, killing all the persons including driver in the mishap.

The vehicle was on the way to Lippa from Jangi in Kinnaur district when accident occurred. The vehicle was carrying laborers to a construction site, yet to be identified.

It is worthwhile to mention here that road mishap is taking heavy toll of life in this hill state, as it had been stated that 18 people were killed and about 22 others were injured in another mishap which occurred in Sirmaur district recently.
