Sunshine gives respite from cold in Himachal

    State witnessed sunshine and dry weather today, giving respite from cold wave as many parts of the state experienced hailstorm, snowfall and rainfall in last 24 hours.

    The Met. office said that Moorang in Kinnaur district experienced 10 cm snowfall, Manali 5 cm, Kalpa in Kinnaur district and Keylong in Lahaul & Spiti district had 3 cm fresh snowfall.

    Gohar in Mandi district have 22 mm rain, Jubbal in Shimla district 16 mm, Saluni 10 mm, Bijahi in Mandi district 9 mm, Moorang, Shimla and Mashobra 8 mm each, Bajaura in Kullu district and Baijnath in Kangra district 6 mm each, Sundernagar in Mandi district, Bhuntar in Kullu district and Kandaghat in Solan district 5 mm each, and Pandoh in Mandi district 4 mm.

    After clear weather and bright sunshine, the state got much respite from cold wave after two day long spell of rainfall, hailstorm and snowfall.

    Minimum temperature of Keylong was minus 7 degrees, Kalpa minus 1.7 degrees, Manali minus 0.8 degrees, Bhuntar and Dalhousie 5 degrees each, Solan, Chamba and Shimla 6 degrees each, Sundernagar, Palampur and Hamirpur 7 degrees each, Dharamshala, Kangra, Bilaspur and Mandi 8 degrees each and Nahan 9 degrees.

    The Met. office forecast mainly dry weather in the state during next 24 hours
