Unseasonal snowfall on high reaches in Himachal

Unseasonal snowfall is continue on high reaches of Lahaul & Spiti, Chamba and Kinnaur districts while down streams were lashed with rain at many parts in last 24 hours. It was partly cloudy today.

Keylong, headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti got 25 centimeter fresh snowfall, Kalpa in Kinnuar district 19 cm, Bharmaur 10 cm and Moorang in Kinnaur district 1 cm. Gateway to Lahaul & Spiti district Rohtang Pass, Baralacha and Manimahesh in Chamba district, Dhauladhar of Kangra district, Kinner and Shrikhand Kailash of Kinnaur district experienced heavy snowfall.

Saluni in Chamba district had highest rain which was recorded as 55 mm followed by Kheri 46 mm, Dalhousie 45 mm, Sarahan in Kinnaur district 31 mm, Chamba, Chhatrari, Dehragopipur in Kangra district, Dharamshala and Rohru in Shimla district 22 mm each, Guler in Kangra district 21 mm, Tissa in Chamba district, Palampur and Kangra 20 mm each, Rampur in Shimla district and Manali 19 mm each.

Bharmaur was coldest with minimum temperature at minus 10 degrees Celsius, Keylong minus 6 degrees, Kalpa minus 2.2 degrees, Dalhousie minus 0.3 degrees, Manali 0.4 degrees, Shimla 3.8 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu district, Dharamshala and Nahan in Sirmaur 6 degrees each, Una, Palampur in Kangra district and Solan 7 degrees each, Sundernagar in Mandi district, Chamba and Hamirpur 8 degrees, Kangra 9 degrees and Bilaspur 10 degrees.

The Met. office forecast mainly dry weather in the state during next 24 hours.
