The Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) Mayor would be conferred with the ‘Best City’ award on March 11 at New Delhi.

The award is being conferred by ABP News for the Best City Award (Public Services) for providing better civic amenities to the Shimla people.

Disclosing about the award SMC Mayor, Sanjay Chauhan said on Monday that the award is based on the survey of all the cities across the country.

Congratulating everyone connected with the SMC, he said the credit for award goes to each and every employee and labour class associated with the corporation who constantly work hard, he said.

“The public of Shimla is also a participant in the award for persistently assisting the civic body in providing better services despite that fact that it has still not successfully been able to fully meet the expectations of the public with no autonomy and economic rights have been provided to the SMC by state government,” he said.

In February last year SMC was conferred by India Today group for the Best City award amongst the various cities in India.
