Another spell of snow on high reaches of Himachal Pradesh

High reaches of Himachal Pradesh were experiencing snowfall and down streams were lashed with rain showers along with light intensity winds.

Reports of snowfall were coming from Narkanda, Kufri, Kharapather and nearby areas of Shimla district as Narkanda and Kufri reported 4 and 3 cm snowfall. The snowfall did not disrupt vehicular traffic.

Manali had rain but its nearby places like Solang Nala had 10 cm snowfall. Rohtang Pass and high reaches also reported 1 feet high snowfall.

High reaches of Himachal experienced snowfall over night as in Lahaul & Spiti district, Udaipur had 12 cm snow, Keylong 4 cm and Bharmaur in Chamba district had 3 cm snowfall.

Moorang in Kinnaur district had 20 mm rainfall, Chamba 13 mm, Tissa 12 mm, Dalhousie in Chamba 11 mm, Chhatrari and Saluni 9 mm each, Manali 7 mm and Kotkhai 5 mm.

With fresh inclement weather conditions prolonged winters are likely to extend. Bharmaur in Chamba district was coldest in the state with minimum temperature at minus 9 degrees, Keylong at minus 5 degrees, Kalpa at minus 1.4 degrees and Dalhousie at 0.4 degrees.

Manali 1. 4 degrees, Bhuntar in Kullu district 5 degrees, Shimla, Sundernagar in Mandi district and Solan 6 degrees each, Dharamshala and Una 7 degrees each, Palampur, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Chamba 8 degrees each, Kangra 9 degrees and Nahan 10 degrees.

The Met. office forecast rain or snowfall in many parts of high reaches and middle hills and rain and thundershowers at many places at foot hills. The warning of hailstorm has been issued at some parts of foothills and middle hills in next 24 hours.
