Himachal Pradesh chief electoral officer Narinder Chauhan announced on Wednesday that additional returning officers and assistants returning officers would be appointed in the state for election expenditure monitoring mechanism.
Addressing media persons about arrangements of general elections, he said that special election expenditure monitoring mechanisms have been developed in the state to keep tab on the expense of the elections as teams have been constituted on state, district and block level comprising of returning officers, assistant returning officers for the purpose.
He said that on the direction of election commission, state and district level nodal officers have been appointed for smooth functioning of 15 different works for Lok Sabha elections 2014.
He said that for the first time in these elections, electoral would choice to press NOTA button if they have no choice of given list of candidates shown in EVMs during the polling.
He said that in order to keep check on the sound pollution during election campaign, efforts has been made to not allow high decibel sound systems in the public places.
Besides this, election commission have been asked to remove the advertisement, posters banners and hoardings containing achievements of governments and ruling parties from public premises.
Election commission have been banned the use of plastic sheets for posters or display banners so that it do not pollute the environment.
Election commission would issue photo slips to every electoral. Photo slips not only contains the name of voter but it also mentions father’s name, age, sex and photograph.
State have already compiled 100 percent photo slips and details of it is also been published in the assembly segment electoral lists website that is www.ceohimachal.nic.in.
