HP Congress hectic parleys at 10 janpath for LS ticket

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, his MP wife Pratibha Singh, all members of Mr. Singh’s cabinet most of party MLAs and HPCC office bearers including state party president Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu were at 10 Janpath in New Delhi today to decide about the tickets to Lok Sabha elections.

In an interesting development in the state today, some unanimous persons distributed posters against Rajinder Singh Rana Independent MLA from Sujanpur of Hamirpur associate member of Congress in the assembly who was being supported by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh as candidate of Congress for Hamirpur LS seat.

There are reports that political rival of Mr. Singh (may be anti-faction of CM in Congress or BJP activists) want to bring in the mind of Congress High command that Mr. Rana was allegedly involve in call girl racket came to light in Woodwilla Palace during BJP rule.

During BJP rule this matter was probed by CID but given clean chit to all those reported involved including Mr. Rana. But in a charge sheet handed over to President Pranab Mukherjee by Congress in opposition it had also highlighted the alleged call girl racket being now probed by state anti-corruption Bureau and Vigilance Department under Mr. Singh’s government.

Sources said that posters containing name of Mr. Rana in the alleged racket was tactically distributed at Bilaspur to also counter another heavy weight of Congress and stanch loyalist support of Mr. Singh, Mr. Ram Lal Thakur who could be projected as party candidate by Chief Minister.

The local sources confirmed development of distributing posters against Mr. Rana to spoil the chance of Mr. Singh to stake claim for ticket before party high command to his loyalists after making such move.

It is interesting to mention here that Anurag Thakur two time LS MP form Hamirpur, BJYM and HPCA chief was being cordon in his own fort by chief minister after concentrating entire election campaign in his strong hold.

Mr. Singh was trying to seek ticket for any party heavy weight who compete with Mr. Thakur in the battle. Earlier party had given ticket to Narinder Thakur who was son of former BJP leader. The distribution of posters could be made by BJP activists to ensure one sided victory to Mr. Thakur.

BJP prime ministerial candidate Narinder Modi would address a election rally on February 16, 2014 at Sujanpur, home town of Mr. Rana in which saffron party had claimed to converged about 2 lakh party workers being projected one of the biggest political congregation in this hill state.

Besides Hamirpur, Mr. Singh was projecting Mohan Bragata as party nominee for Shimla LS seat, Mr. Chandra Kumar for Kangra LS seat and Mrs. Pratibha Singh incumbent MP for Mandi LS seat, respectively. However anti Mr. Singh camp in Congress is against this choice.

The entire hectic parley was at 10 Janpath as anti Mr. Singh camp is reported to have proximity with AICC chief Mr. Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi.
