A woman serving in the department of industry lodged a complaint against her senior officer for passing indecent remarks and sexual harassment during officer hours, a cop of police station Sadar confirmed today.
The accused was posted as state geologist in the Directorate of Industry, Shimla.
The woman lodging complaint today alleged that Inderesh Dhiman was passing indecent remarks as he was indulged sexual harassment at the working place.
The victim reportedly broke her silence after long time as the misconduct of the accused forced her to a compromising situation while she was on her duty today.
The police officers told that the complaints (not to be named) today were lodged against the officer who was booked for sexual harassment in the working place.
Police had invoked section 354(a) and 506 of IPC after the above complaint but the accused was not arrested so far.
After departmental probe in similar case, a senior officer of State Aids Control Society was also forced to the leave the coveted post recently as a woman also lodged complaint of sexual harassment.
This hill state is not free from such crimes as the women are not safe at working places, while victims restrained them from lodging complaint against their seniors for sake of their jobs.
