High chance of snowfall on new year’s eve in HP

This hill state have high chance of snowfall on new year’s eve as Indian Meteorological Department forecast snowfall on high reaches of Himachal Pradesh owing to western disturbances in the state

Weather bulletin issued by Shimla Met office said that Western Disturbance (W.D.) was in the air extending upto 4.5 km per second above the sea level now lies over north Pakistan and neighborhood.

It would bring another spell of snowfall at isolated places tomorrow onwards and the Met. office forecast rain or snow at few places on December 31 in this hill state.

The mercury improvised in the state following bright sunshine and mainly dry weather in the state.

Minimum temperature of Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti distirct was recorded minus 5 degrees Celsius today but it was 3 degrees high than that of yesterday followed by Kalpa in Kinnuar district at minus 2.4 degrees, Manali in Kullu district minus 2 degrees and Bhuntar minus 0.4 degrees, respectively.

Sundernagar in Mandi district was low at minus 0.3 degrees, Solan at 1.4 degrees, Chamba, Dalhousie and Una at 3 degrees each, Shimla, Nahan and Kangra at 4 degrees each, Hamirpur and Dharamshala in Kangra district 5 degrees each and Bilaspur 6.8 degrees.

Day temperature is also expected to rise as there was bright sunshine in the hills today.
