Himachal Pradesh assembly witnessed noisy scene today as it have to adjourn before lunch amid opposition protest over news items appeared against Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his family member.
As the house commenced for the question hours this morning, BJP member Rikhi Ram Kaundal wanted to know the decision of chair over opposition notice seeking adjournment to allow discussion on a issue appeared in the newspaper today against Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his family members.
When speaker Brij Behari Lal Butail did not allow Mr. Kaundal to further speak over this issue, all other members of opposition rose up on their seats demanding to allow the immediate discussion. In absence of Chief Minister today BJP raised this matter. Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur and Parliamentary affairs Minister Mukesh Agnihotri tried to defend government opposing the opposition adjournment motion.
The entire opposition waived off the news clipping in the house containing news items against Chief Minister and his family members. News items mentioned of accusation on the Chief Minister that he had bought shares in M/s Taruni enterprises hailed to Vakammula Chandrashekhar, same person had also reportedly issued multi crore unsecured loan to Mr. Singh and his wife.
Amid noisy scene when speaker allow BJP member Ravinder Singh Ravi to speak he said that the issue is pertained to the leader of this house and opposition want clarification over it after suspending schedule business seeking discussion under rule 67.
He said that Chief Minister and his daughter have shares of more than 9 lakh in M/s Taruni LTD. as it was appeared in the media reports today and it is a proper issue to be raised after seeking adjournment motion and chair should allow it.
Mr. Ravi also stated that photograph of Chief Minister, Civil and Supply Minister G.S. Bali along with senior Congress leader appeared on the ration card is illegal as he also waived the xerox copy of ration card. This agitated the member of treasury benches as Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri and Mr. Kaul Singh objected the statements made by Mr. Ravi.
Speaker did not allowed to speak more to opposition and asked the member to start the question hours. The entire opposition was on their toes and the trouped down on the well of house.
Opposition protest and lauded slogan in the well badly disrupted question hours as there was no tandem among the ruling benches as speaker allowed its member to raise all question listed for business today.
The house passed three bills with voice vote amid the din of protest also took three matters raised under rule 324 by the member of treachery benches and answered by concerned ministers.
Speaker adjourned the assembly with completion of entire important business listed for approval of house today as it was adjourned for day at 1210 hours.
