This hill state was under grip of extreme cold conditions especially in the wee hours as fog formation begins along the banks of rivers and rivulets, partly cloudy and hazy sky.
Life was at dull note as people came from their houses braving cold waves following partly cloudy, foggy and hazy weather conditions, it faded away with rising of the day upto noon.
The pace of life also remained slow in the wee hours as vehicular traffic in Una, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi and Kullu partly affected by fogs formation along river banks.
The Keylong tribal headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti district was coldest as it was low at minus 4.2 degrees followed by Kalpa in Kinnaur district at minus 1 degrees. The mercury remained unchanged in Manali at sharp zero degrees.
Minimum temperature of Bhuntar in Kullu district and Sundernagar in Mandi district was at 2 degrees each, Hamirpur and Solan at 3 degrees each, Shimla, Dalhousie, Kangra and Palampur at 5 degrees each, Bilaspur 6 degrees, Nahan in Sirmaur district and Dharamshala in Kangra district at 7 degrees each.
Indian Meteorological Department forecast mainly dry weather despite weak western disturbances is laying over the state.
