Dooms day of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association affiliated with Board for Cricket Control of India (BCCI) seems not over as State Vigilance (SV) and Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) lodged two FIR against the state primer cricket body today registered at police station Dharamshala, sleuth senior official confirmed.

SV and ACB booked HPCA and government officials for committing irregularities accusing them for conniving as 2,023 green pine trees allegedly fell on land lease to Pavilion of International Cricket Stadium at Dharamshala.

Additional Director General of SV and ACB, Shimla Prithvi Raj said in a press communique here today that police station Dharamshala registered another FIR against the cricket body and officers and officials of revenue department for conniving in the irregularities.

During investigation by the agency it was found that they committed irregularities in lease of land to HPCA as investigation officer had come to know that a large number of pine trees were standing on the land allotted to cricket body.

DFO report states that 2,023 trees were standing on the land leased but Revenue officials demarcated the land and are silent over the pine trees.

Before giving no objection certificate by the then range officer (RO) and division forest officer (DFO) Dharamshala had also not maintained about the existence of trees in their respected reports, sleuth alleged that errant official demarcated the said piece of land without trees (Charagah Vila Darakhtan or grass land).

“In view of above facts, it has been alleged that undue favour has been given to HPCA by the officials of Revenue and Forest Department and wrongful loss have occurred to the government exchequer”, official alleged.

Charging HPCA to cut large number of trees before construction, it slapped FIR today on the cricket body under section 13 (2) Prevention of Corruption PC Act, 120 B and 447 of Indian penal code at SV and ACB police station at Dharamshala.

Not giving after having strong remarks by the division bench of Himachal Pradesh High court recently, this is third FIR against body though the political observers considers this as mere political gimmick but it could spoil the serenity of incoming winter session of state assembly giving a weapon in the hand of opposition having strong number in the house commencing from December 16 to 21 at Tapovan near Dharamshala.
