An unidentified body was recovered from the fire embers as fire broke out in state public works department, temporary sheds near US club, Shimla last night, fire officer confirmed.
State fire officer Dharm Chand Sharma said that two fire tender rushed to the fire site after a complaint of fire at 0130 hours last night. They recovered a half burnt body from the fire embers as they broke down the shed to control fire.
He said that the person who died in the fire could not be identified as department officials deny of any watchman in the shed when it caught fire. The body was handed over to Police officials carrying out autopsy of it.
Mr. Sharma did not denied that it could be a criminal act for which police is probing the matter.
Fire was brought under control within two hours, which gutted old office furniture and worn out mats in the fire.
