Himachal unit of BJP decided to gather waste iron and divine soil from all the 20,118 villages in this hill state to contribute for Rs. 250 crore to Sardar Patel unity statue project to come out in Gujrat in next four years.
Former BJP state President Jai Ram Thakur said that saffron party state unit has constituted 20 members committee to collect the waste iron from farmers and divine soils from holy places of each village of the state to further send it to Gujrat to contribute for construction of the statue.
A special drive would be conducted in the state involving the common man from January 15 to January 25 to collect material in ceremonial way with worshiping of lands.
Party would also commemorate the death anniversary of former Home Minister on December 15 as the day has named as ‘run for unity’.
Similar drive would also be conducted in all other villages in the country as the statue and landmark would come out in respect of Patel which is an emotional issue.
Gujrat Chief Minister Narinder Modi and BJP senior leader L.K. Advani already laid the foundation stone of this landmark on October 31, 2013 on the birthday anniversary of Mr. Patel on the bank of Narmada river in Ahmedabad of Gujrat.
