DD Shimla calls agitating workers for re-negotiation

Director Doordarshan Shimla, Mr.Gauri Dutt Sharma yesterday called the agitating casual workers for re-negotiation table assuring them that their genuine demands within his ambit will be considered sympathetically.

Addressing media persons in Press Club Shimla yesterday, Mr. Sharma said that few handful misguided workers engaged on assignment basis for Krishi Darshan and Swasthya Bharat program production who were agitating outside DD Shimla should join their duty as he is ready to hear them patiently.

“I could not recruit any person without getting sanction or approval from Directorate General of Doordarshan but 12 to 14 people were pressing the issues of conversion of their assignments into regular posting during first round of talk with me.” Mr.Sharma said.

He said that they have not given any written memorandum and demand charters to him so far because of which he could not pursue their demands. He added that despite this some of agitating youths were trying to interrupt in the production of kendra which would not be allowed.

He urged the agitating to amicably resolve if they have any grievances and not follow the way of agitation and protest as it is not proper way to bring forth the demands in for esteemed organizations like Doordarshan.

There seemed no logic for agitation since administration has not removed any single persons as all the people engaged on assignment basis are being called subject to the production of program.

He also assured to take up the matter with Directorate to make policy for the recruitment of agitating youth but they should have to give it in writing to him first.

It is always trying its best to help the unemployed skilled manpower after starting such program as 50 persons have been engaged as per the guidance of Directorate of Doordarshan in giving them causal work for various programs.
