Virbhadra Singh and his wife got Rs. 4 crore unsecured loan: Arun Dhumal

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh had got about Rs. 4 crore unsecured loan from a person as it was mentioned in the affidavit filed before the Election Commission of India by Mrs. Singh who won the seat as member of Lok Sabha in June 2013 from Mandi. The family hailed to erstwhile royal estate of Rampur Bushair projected Rs. 33.96 crore assets and Rs. 3.93 crore liabilities.

Seeking detail of this loan, son of Prem Kumar Dhumal, Mr. Arun Dhumal disclosed in a media conference held at Shimla today that Mrs. Singh while making financial assets owned by her family, public mentioned that about Rs. 4 crore unsecured loan was taken from Vakamullu Chandershekhar, despite the couple had bank balance of Rs. 10 crore, revealing financial liability of Rs. 1.50 crore and Rs. 2.40 crore in the name of Mrs. Singh and Mr. Singh respectively.

People of the state want to know the antecedents of Mr. Chandershekhar and how the loan had been utilized by Chief Minister and his wife as people were unaware of the fact that they had invested in any project after lending such a huge amount, Mr. Dhumal who is also member of HPCA asked.

“After coming to power did Mr. Singh give any gain to this person from he procured unsecured loan”, he asked firing flurry of nine questions about this moot issue.

In the three press conference addressed by Arun Dhumal he not only defended his family with motive to stop unilateral media trail against them but also released detail of income tax return and financial assets and liability of Mr. Singh after giving bundles of documents.

He said that after releasing documents pertained to Chief Minister he is expected to reply being a public representatives if he is innocent.

Mr. Arun Dhumal stated that some ministers present in Mr. Singh’s cabinet were trying to defend him after issuing statement in his favour, but they do not expect to know the details of family income Mr. Singh, who should make the details in the public himself.

Income tax department did not accepted the revise income tax return of Chief Minister with his increased agriculture income from Rs. 7.34 lakh to Rs. 2.21 crore, he added.

“I have no ill intention and moral right to blame personal enjoys of such high reputation and stature in the public life by dragging him in any controversy but after registering fake cases against me and my brother, I am forced do so”, he said.

Arun Dhumal argued alleging that it is very much clear that Mr. Singh’s Congress rule is trying to implicate him and his elder brother by booking them under sec. 420 and 120 IPC recently.

Releasing copy of concerned document he clarified that revenue record and entry shows that man from whom they (Mr. Dhumal sons) had purchased the land was entitled to do so after gap of 15 years nor he was illiterate and landless.

Wife of late Premu whom government was terming landless have land in Kangra district and his son gave affidavit while purchasing land from them in 2008, he explained.
