SW monsoon turns weak : Met office

South West monsoon turned weak in the state as only one to two places were lashed with rainfall in last 24 hours.

The abode of Tibetan Spiritual leader Dalai Lama, Dharamshala had 38 mm of rain, Nahan in Sirmaur district received 11 mm and Mehre in Hamirpur district 8 mm.

State was hovering with thick clouds since this morning but there is no report of rainfall today.

Report received from Chamba said that 30,000 devotees have taken holy deep in Manimahesh glacial lakes till September 1. After Uttarakhand tragedy number of devotees were reduced in the pilgrimage. Report said that three persons succumbed in the way so far including an old man.

The Met office said that monsoon would remain scanty in the state in next 24 hours.
