Himachal Pradesh Assembly monsoon session will commence from today at Vidhan Sabha complex, Shimla. It is likely to be stormy in wake of forth coming Lok Sabha elections as opposition have number of issues to cordon the state government in the floor of house.
Vidhan Sabha Speaker Brij Bihari Lal Butail in a press release said that session would have seven sittings in between Aug 21 to 30 as it would perform important business which will include tabling of some bills like New Apartment Act etc. The house would debate on number of other issues as one day is earmarked for private members business.
The members have also given the notice to debate on number of burning issues before the state like natural calamities and threat of earthquakes, in wake of recent natural catastrophe in Uttarakhand and Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh and high intensity tremor hit the region.
Both the ruling and opposition parties have braced the belt before the session as they convened their legislative meetings yesterday evening to choke out the strategies to face the session and cordon the other raising various issues in the house.
BJP legislative party and Chief Whip, Ravinder Singh Ravi told that session is likely to remain stormy as incumbent congress failed in most fronts. Moreover, it leashed political vendetta against its oppositions political adversaries after electing to office eight month back.
“BJP had choked out straggly to cordon the Congress rule on the three B’s including Bhay, Bharashtachar and Bhuka (Terror, Corruption and Hunger). During the session its 26 members would lodge protest inside the house, on the other hand BJP workers have given call to cordon assembly complex from outside on Aug 23 in the above issues”, Mr. Ravi said.
The government was busy and bent upon to victimize its political adversaries as political cases have been registered on petty grounds against number of BJP leaders and its functionaries including HPCA and telephone tapping issues.
Mr. Ravi said, “As soon as, Congress resumed the office in the state it has been indulged in massive transfer of employees and officers who had been terrorized by the government also derailed the governance system in the state”.
“The incumbent government discouraged the competent senior administrative officer by depriving them from the top post as number of retirees have been given extensions before and after retirement causing resentment among the officials in the state”, he alleged.
He added, “The transfer of employees has been become a den of corruption as they were not getting suitable station without paying for it. Despite giving assurance it could not implemented new food security ordinance, moreover, all PDS depots and shops were not functioning without ample food stock as it could not distribute sugar and other food items for last few months”.
It also cheated lakhs of unemployed youth to provide them unemployment allowance now changed into ‘skill development allowance’ which could not be implemented effectively in the state. Similarly PTA (Parent Teacher Association) teachers who have been promised by the Congress during the election to provide regular jobs also feel cheated.
Recently state had faced number of natural calamities but neither top government ministers nor its officials made any attempt to care for the victims as they are still deprived of ample compensation.
Political Pundit feels that session will probably remain stormy as BJP would counter the alleged move by state government for registered FIR against HPCA and alleged telephone taping during last government as probes have been ordered against its leaders.
Keeping an eye on the next Lok Sabha elections, Vidhan Sabha could be the best platform for BJP to cordon the government on various issues as opposition did not have dearth of issues today.
