Eid was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor in this hill state today. Religious prayers were held in different Muslim shrines across the state in which devotees in large number gathered who greeted each other and distributed sweets.
The main prayer was held at Jama Masjid middle bazar and similar prayers were also organized at Boileauganj, Kashmiri Masjid and Eid Gah ground in Lakkar Bazar, Shimla.
Report that came from Kullu said that Jama Masjid at Akhara Bazar had a jovial gathering comprising of people from all communities. The Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs flocked to the Masjid and wished “Eid Mubarak” to each other besides distributing sweets. Men, women and children in their colorful outfits gave a gaiety look to all the markets in the town today. Eid celebrations were also held at Manali, Bhuntar, Dharamshala and many other towns.
