Himachal Pradesh Industrial Minister, Mukesh Agnihotri and Urban Development Minister, Sudhir Sharma has termed the statement of HPCA President baseless.  MP Hamirpur Anurag Thakur, has raised aspersions regarding inquiry into the misdeeds of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association as groundless.

They said that it was a mere attempt to divert attention of the people from reality whereas inquiry being conducted was as per the charge sheet submitted by the Congress Party.

They said that the leaders of BJP were leveling false and baseless allegations on Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh since the state assembly elections, and all these allegations have proved to be false and are political motivated. They said that Hon’ble courts and people of the state during the Vidhan Sabha have totally rejected the false allegations of BJP. They said that Shri Anurag Thakur was only trying to divert the attention of people from their misdeeds.

The ministers said that no illegal decision was taken during the tenure of Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh as Union Steel Minister. They said that no steel company was given any undue advantage during his period as Union Steel Minister. They said that BJP leader Shri Arun Jaitley had made these allegations just ahead of Himachal Pradesh assembly elections with political motive and nothing has come out.

The Ministers said that the allegations made by Mr. Thakur regarding the  alleged diary seized by the Income-tax department proved nothing. They said that inquiry was conducted by Income-tax department  and no irregularity was found in it.

But at the same time, the irregularities had been found in Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association which clearly indicates that they had been committed on the names of Anurag  Thakur and Mr. Dhumal. They said that the shamlat land of a village was gifted to Shri Anurag Thakur by the then Chief Minister Mr. Dhumal to enable him to come into limelight in the politics.

Mr. Agnihotri and Mr. Sharma questioned why Mr.  Dhumal and his son were anxious regarding the income of Shri Virbhadra Singh from his orchards, on which he was paying tax and Income-tax department has no objections over it. They said that FIR had been lodged against HPCA after proper investigation in Dharamshala. They said Shri Virbhadra Singh was not a vindictive Chief Minister and he never interfered in vigilance inquiries.

On the question of lodging FIR in haste, they said that the present state government was working more effectively than the previous BJP government and all the matters relating to the people were being disposed off without any delay.
