Himachal Pradesh Football Association (HPFA) is keen to host one match of Junior Football World cup, as India would be hosting the world cup in 2017 and HPFA has stake claimed for this.
HPFA spokesman said that HPFA president, Amit Pal Singh has taken up this matter with AIFA as the association is keen to host a match of Junior world cup at HPCA stadium Dharamshala, keeping the natural beauty and suitable sports climate in mind.
“The matter is already raised with HPCA staking claimed with AIFA as HPFA has been successfully organizing a number of events in series in the past one year”, he said.
Assuming that Santosh Trophy will be organised by AIFA in Feb 2014 in the country, the state team has been undergoing advance coaching camp at Hoshiarpur where it is likely to compete with country’s top team like JCTC and Punjab to qualify the league match.
