Rain showers lashed few parts of Himachal Pradesh as it was overcast from last night, the Met office said.
Abode of Tibetan Spiritual leader Dalai Lama, Dharamshala got 59 mm rain followed by Jogindernagar in Mandi district 41 mm, Pandoh 30 mm, Banjar in Kullu district 16 mm, Jubbal in Shimla district 7 mm, Baijnath in Kangra district and Dalhousie in Chamba district 6 mm each, Nurpur in Kangra district, Palampur and Mandi 5 mm each.
Rain showers also lashed Shimla and its surrounding areas this morning, bringing down the day temperature in the region. The rain was considered good for sowing of ‘Kharif crop’ and scarcity of water in the state.
The Met office attributed Western Disturbances for inclement weather which would further bring rain or snow in few parts of high reaches and rain or thundershowers in middle hills. However, weather would be mainly dry in the rest of state for next 24 hours.
