A slight intensity earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale hit few parts of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh yesterday at 2005 hours, report arriving from the Chamba district and IMD sources confirmed.
Shimla Meteorological Department incharge Manmohan Singh told that Chamba district was jolted this evening, the tremors were felt in the Chamba, Dalhousie, Bharmour, Pangi and Banikhet areas of Chamba district.
He said that epicenter of the earthquake was at latitude 29.5 North and longitude 80.4 East along India-Nepal border region in Uttrakhand.
Report arriving from district headquarters Chamba said that people experienced the tremor however no loss of life or damage to property was reported so far. Kangra and Chamba district fall in the seismic zone Schedule V area in the state.
