Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh completes 30 years in the state legislative assembly

Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur greeted Chief Minsiter Virbhadra Singh on completion of his 30 years in the state legislative assembly during the assembly proceedings yesterday.

Mr. Singh said that he has completed a long innings and deserves special mention in the house as he has completed three decades of state assembly during this spell, he has been also elected as Chief Minister for six times.

Mr. Singh was elected as member of state assembly in 1983, 1985, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2007 and 2013.

Depicting completion of 30 years in state legislative assembly by Mr. Singh, an exhibition titled “Remarkable contributions by Virbhadra Singh in three decades” was set up in the premises of state assembly, Shimla.

Mr. Singh himself visited this exhibition evinced keen interest in it which showcased some of his memorable moments of last three decades.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that this hill state has made tremendous progress and development in all sectors since its formation, notable progress was made in education, roads, health, hydro power, agriculture and horticulture during this period.

He said that his Government is committed to all-round development of all areas of the state without any discrimination. He said that momentum would be given to the development in the state that would boost economic activities besides raising the socio-economic status of the people of the state.

A documentary produced by Department of Information and Public Relations titled ‘Himalaya Ka Karamyogi : Virbhadra Singh’ based on the life and contribution of Mr. Virbhadra Singh was also screened on the occasion.

Earlier a ‘Photo Exhibition’ was inaugurated by Mr. B.B.L. Butail, Speaker of sate legislative assembly.
