HP to set up a new commission to probe the land deals

Himachal Pradesh may set up a new commission to probe the alleged dubious land deals which took place during the previous BJP regime.

Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said that state government do not want to indulge in unnecessary probes as the agenda of the state government is development.

Addressing media persons on the eve of completion of 100 days of Congress government, Mr. Singh said “We will think about the commission if a need to set up the same will be felt to probe the land deals”.

The Chief Minister said that the Congress had raised the issue of irregularities in land purchases during the tenure of BJP government and high profile cases of land deals and change of land use involving Ramdev’s Patanjali Yogpeeth, Shanti Bhushan Trust, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association’s hotel and construction activities in Bemloe and Annandale are being probed.

Reacting to a question , Virbhadra Singh said that the biggest challenge before his government is to restore the hope and faith of the people in the government which was lost during the previous government.
