Himachal Pradesh government would re-employ all those EGS (Employment Guarantee Scheme) teachers, whose service had been terminated recently for allegedly not being fully trained. Replying to the question raised by the Congress MLA from Dalhousie in the state assembly during question hour today, the state Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who is also holding the portfolio of education said that on the intervention of the high court, the government is considering to retain their services after giving them formal training.
Mr. Singh said that out of the 401 EGS teachers employed by the Elementary Education Department in the state, 32 have left the services on their own while 127 have been converted into Gramin Vidhya Upasaks. However, 242 teachers have been removed. The Chief Minister denied the allegation of Asha Kumari that, pick and choose yard stick has been applied for retaining these teachers by converting them as Gramin Vidhya Upasaks. He, however, said only those teachers who did not fulfil the basic qualification of 10+2 were removed. He said that some of affected teachers moved to the high court, which had given relief to them and now department is considering to re-employ them after giving them training under district institute of education and training center.
It is really ridiculous that the HP Governments , be it from BJP or Congress , adopting these corrupt practices to make places for their own kith and kin ………………
There are thousands of trained teachers available already in the state, why some one does not ask them if they are volunteer to serve in villages or in remote places, ????? why take the untrained and less qualified persons and then regularize them through back doors ???? I feel this is nothing but injustice and corrupt practice.
