Two deaths have taken place after resumption of charge by the new Congress government in the state, as 24 swine flu cases were found positive for (H1N1) fatal virus in the state, as stated by Health Minister Kaul Singh Thakur in a written reply, tabled in the house today.
Replying to Ravinder Singh (BJP-Dehra) Mr. Thakur said that between Dec 25, 2012 to Feb 28, 2013 about 24 swine flu cases were found positive for H1N1 virus, while two death cases have been witnessed in this period.
Mr. Thakur said that, Indira Gandhi Medical College, Shimla has the facility to test for this fatal pandemic. He said that Department has been providing facility of isolation ward in every district level hospital and ample quantity of Tamiflu tablets are also available in the state and district level hospitals. Awareness is also being spread among the people to make them cautious about this disease.
