HPCC President to lay metro rail line between Nadaon, Palampur and Dharamshala

After appointing as new Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee  Chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, sought laying of new metro rail line between Nadaon, Palampur and Dharamshala.

Mr. Sukhu took up the matter with Union Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal at New Delhi yesterday. He also emphatically raised the matter for providing one time budget for Una – Talwara, Chandigarh – Baddi and Bilaspur – Bhanupali proposed rail lines. He urged the Union Railway Minister to expedite the work on railway extension arguing that it was very urgent for sustaining growth of tourism and industry in the state. “The land transport and roads are only means of transportation in this hill state and increasing fleet is putting extra pressure on the road which require immediate extension of railway network to decongest and reduce the burden on the limited infrastructure”,  HPCC president asserted.

In a HPCC statement released yesterday, Mr. Sukhu claimed that Mr. Bansal assured every possible step for the extension of railway in the hill state. The release also said, “Union Railway Minister assured to convene a meeting of ministerial staff early to sympathetically concede the demand raised by HPCC president”.
