Moderate intensity earthquake was felt in parts of Kangra and Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh at 5.51PM yesterday evening. The meteorological officer Manmohan Singh the earthquake for was measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale. He said that the epicenter of earthquake was confined to latitude 23.3 °N and longitude 76.2 °E in the border of Kangra and Chamba district of Himachal.
Similar shock were also witnessed during first and second week of October in Kangra, Lahaul & Spiti and Chamba distirct. However there is no reported of loss of life and property from anywhere. Kangra, Chamba, Shimla and Kinnuar districts fall on the schedule ‘V’ of highly seismic zone in the state.
