Umang to launch Thalassemia free Himachal campaign

To mark the International Thalassemia Day, Umang Foundation is launching “Thalassemia Free Himachal” campaign. Thalassemia Day is celebrated all over the world on 8th May.

In a statement here today, Ajai Srivastava, Chairman of Umang Foundation said that on 8th May, children with Thalassemia will release a poster on Thalassemia Awareness in a program on The Ridge. A blood donation camp will be organized on this occasion and children with Thalassemia will inaugurate the camp by honoring the donors with a rose stick.

He also said that the main objective of this campaign is to create awareness about this genetic blood disorder and draw government’s attention towards the problem to protect the rights of these children. He appealed people from all sections of the society to support this campaign for bringing a positive change in the society.
