Kullu (Dec 27): In Himachal Pradesh, all villages having population of 500 or more people have been connected with road facility under the Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojana, while villages with population of 250 will have road connectivity by the end of next year.
This was stated by chief parliamentary secretary Verinder Kanewar while addressing the second day function of the three-day Bharat Nirman public information campaign being held at the historic Dhalpur ground in Kullu.
Kanwar said that Rs 60,000 crore PMSY has brought about speedy progress in the rural areas with road connectivity. Referring to the implementation of Right to Information Act as a historic event after freedom of the country to make the administration transparent and answerable to the people, Kanwar said that the Act has helped in exposing many cases of corruption.
Appreciating the result of universalisation of education, Kanwar said that the government was providing liberal financial assistance to schools to strengthen basic infrastructure.
