'HP leading other states in effective implementation of MNREGA'

Kullu (Dec 27): Inaugurating the three day ‘Bharat Nirman’ Public Information Campaign organized by the Press Information Bureau, Shimla, at the historic Dhalpur ground here on Monday, Himachal Pradesh public works minister Gulab Singh Thakur claimed that the hill state was leading other states in the country in effective implementation of Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) scheme.

Highlighting the progress of the schemes funded by the Union government in the state, Thakur revealed that Himachal Pradesh has been adjudged among the leading states who performed best in MNREGA on national level.

He also disclosed that Himachal Pradesh is in the forefront in the country to effectively implement National Rural Health Mission, Prime Minister Gramin Sadak Yojna and other progremmes.

He said that 108 ambulances schemes being funded under NRHM and state resources have proved a boon to provide rapid response to people as more than 1.50 lakh emergency cases were attended on one year successful completion of the scheme.
